Up to 1994, figures refer to December of the year. Starting from
the first quarter of 1995, a new series of nominal and real indices with
base period reset at the first quarter of 1994 has been introduced to replace
the old series ( March 1991= 100) and the figure for 1995 refer to the
fourth quarter of 1995.
As from 1996, the real indices are derived by deflating the nominal
indices by the 1994/95-based CPI(A). To facilitate comparison, real indices
prior to 1996 have been re-compiled using 1994/95-based CPI(A).
