Notes: Figures refer to December of the year.
Up to 4th quarter 1990, figures are analyzed by
the International Standard Industrial Classification (ISIC). As from March 1991,
the Hong Kong Standard Industrial Classification (HSIC) is adopted for the
classification of economic activities in place of ISIC.Figures from 1st quarter
1991 on wards are therefore available only in HSIC and are based on March
1991=100. They are not strictly comparable to those in the past series which are
in ISIC. To facilitate comparison overtime, figures for 1990 are adjusted to
conform to the classification of HSIC and re-based to March 1991=100 and
presented in this table.
